When high-level archmages can alter the fabric of reality with a word, and priests of mighty gods can reincarnate the long deceased, warriors may find themselves overshadowed. The Critical Wits crew asks the question: should high level fighters be able to perform amazing super-human feats as well?
There’s a misconception that as Dungeons and Dragons has evolved and changed as a game over time, the standard power level of all the core classes has grown to be something less resembling the Knights of the Round Table and more akin to characters out of the latest video game. The guys sit down and take a deep look at how the fighter stacks up against not only the other classes in the game but also its various incarnations throught the games history. Perhaps they even dispel some of those pesky misconceptions along the way?

Good luck with the new podcast, guys! And thanks for not being as over the top gross/profane as, say, the Happy Jacks Podcast. I’m not a prude, and I don’t mind some cursing to “flavor” things. But hearing wet burps from my earbuds every 30 seconds gets old pretty quick, as does giggling when someone uses double entendre. Bottom line: thanks for focusing on the gaming-relevant content rather than doing an “RPG frat boy” show. Looking forward to a lot more!
Thanks, Drance!
We try to not be “that guy.” Our sense of humour is collectively a more snarky one for the most part. you won’t ever have to worry about us doing something like that un-ironically.
Episode 4 is going to be our first mailbay episode, so look forward to hearing one of us reading your wonderful comment in the air next week!
No problem. Look, I’m really not trying to bash the Happy Jacks folks. They do cover some good stuff during their shows. But I don’t know how listeners can concentrate with all the filler of gas and profanity. Again, I appreciate your show’s focus, energy, and dedication to the topic at hand.
THIS PODCAST IS FREAKING AMAZING!!!!!!!!
hahahahaha nice game
